The Goal
DeForest sought to move beyond the limited participation typical of in-person meetings, which often resulted in minimal feedback and engagement. With its limited resources and small team, the village aimed to streamline communications, centralize data, and offer residents more inclusive opportunities for involvement.
The Approach
DeForest’s commitment to effective engagement was spearheaded by Stacey Harmon, the Community Ambassador. Using Social Pinpoint, Stacey raised awareness of ongoing projects and employed creative tools to involve the public in decision-making. By leveraging digital tools, she expanded the village’s reach and exceeded expectations.

Results Beyond Expectation
DeForest’s strategic approach yielded impressive results. In an alleyway development project, the village garnered over 350 survey responses, far exceeding the anticipated 100 and marketing a significant improvement over past public meetings.
The village’s proactive engagement efforts fostered broader dialogue with residents. DeForest’s team effectively utilized a range of content tools, including the Flow Survey to enhance transparency and accountability.
Encouraged by these successes, Stacey envisions a future where the village continues to lead in community involvement. She aims to embrace evolving technologies and methodologies to further solidify DeForest’s commitment to inclusivity and transparency, continuing to create a centralized hub that resonates with residents seeking information and connection.
