Capturing Conversations with Auckland Council and FranklyAI

Community members can spark a conversation with Frankly from within Social Pinpoint.

The ability to understand and cater to multiple languages and multiple cultural nuances is all but a dream for many communication professionals. You want to ensure you are capturing and connecting with everyone in your community, and, quite frankly, that can be extremely difficult to navigate. Now, imagine if you could remove these barriers so that no voice is left behind to reach your wider community.

Auckland Council has recently launched their Te Whau Pathway Interactive Map with a bit of a twist – you can now chat with FranklyAI. Frankly enables users and communities to access and interact with Auckland Council in a new and engaging way. With the option to choose a variety of languages and interfaces, Frankly, a conversational AI engages stakeholders in an approachable, accessible conversational style.

“We want to hear your views on the design of sections of the pathway that haven’t been constructed yet, and in particular the proposed design and location of areas for play, access and rest.”

Auckland Council

This sparks a new era of conversational consultation for Auckland Council. The choice to support Mandarin language speakers to share their opinions in a friendly manner embraces inclusivity at its core. It also allows community members to easily choose how they want to interact and engage, depending on their level of comfort. So, by providing multiple avenues for feedback and emphasizing this choice, Auckland Council has created an environment that is responsive to the needs of the individual that is interacting – which is fantastic to see!

Frankly easily integrates within Social Pinpoint by allowing community members to easily spark conversations about specific map pins and to prompt feedback on design and location.

Auckland Council has already received 47 comments on their Social Pinpoint Interactive Map and 100 conversations via Frankly in their first two weeks of consultation. This reinforces the benefits of having the two platforms unite in one space, as Frankly can easily educate and expand upon individual aspects of the Te Whau Pathway design that is visible on the Social Pinpoint Interactive Map.
