Sustainability is central to the university’s mission of advancing the common good. This past summer, the University of St. Thomas completed its first sustainability assessment and received a Silver STARS rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. The STARS report describes the university’s progress in addressing sustainability in academics, engagement, operations, and administrative functions.
The Sustainability Council is now working on developing the first sustainability plan for the University of St. Thomas. The plan will articulate a vision for sustainability at St. Thomas, establish goals, and prioritize actions to implement over the next three-to-five years. They are using an ideas wall to invite community members to leave their ideas for sustainability and create open discussion on various topics.
