The GreenWay is a 5.8km environmental travel corridor which links many areas together. It features bike paths, foreshore walks, cultural and historical sites, cafes, bushcare sites, parks, playgrounds, and sporting facilities.
The inner west community and local councils have been campaigning for over 10 years to complete the GreenWay. With funding now in place, they are turning to the community to find out exactly what they need to do to make it easy to walk or ride the entire length of the route safely.
Local council realized how passionate the community was about this project and wanted to enable them to easily participate as much as possible. By using an interactive map, council was able to identify areas that they were aware of that needed updates and mark them on the map. Residents were encouraged to leave their feedback and ideas by identifying walking and cycling areas, ecology areas, recreation areas, arts and culture areas, and comment on the proposed updates.
