The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is now seeking feedback on the different alternatives and improvement options for the Stirling Highway.

The objective of this project is to restore the structural integrity, increase safety, reduce congestion, and improve travel efficiency of the Sterling Highway. Anticipated work will include new roadway pavement, additional shoulder width and the addition of passing/climbing lanes, replacement of bridges and culverts and stabilization of stream banks.

This project is being completed using a combination of state and federal funds and is being developed in accordance with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) guidelines.
