With 2019 coming to a close, it's a great time to reflect on the year that has passed and take a look at what's in store for 2020.

This year has been huge for Social Pinpoint with our amazing team expanding in Australia, as well as the United States. We have also made great progress in our continued commitment to working more closely with our sister company, Consultation Manager, to deliver a world class end-to-end solution for engaging your stakeholders.

What's the plan for 2020?

We acknowledge that engagement and communities are changing and we want to ensure that we are ready for the future. Our clients continue to remain at the forefront of our development, so we are investing in our engineering team to allow us to take on your feedback (the good and the bad) so we can quickly and effectively implement improvements to Social Pinpoint.

In Australia, we are seeing a trend of moving away from the more traditional 'engagement platforms' towards a custom website . This allows councils to have more control over the look and feel of their site in order to create a more cohesive experience for stakeholders. With this trend in mind, we are placing a focus on ensuring all of our tools can be seamlessly embedded and integrated into third-party platforms whilst still allowing for detailed and easy to understand reporting.

A different set of priorities are in place for our plans in the USA. Next year is an election year with most government agencies also having 2020 commitments to ensure a 'stakeholder engagement strategy' is in place. With it being impossible to offer a 'please all' solution, we all must play our part in transparent and well-executed community engagement. Social Pinpoints' part in this, is to facilitate and advise on best practice when using online engagement methods and how best to break through the loud minorities and reach the majority.

The communities we work in are typically very personal and specific to a particular area, therefore we all engage our stakeholders in different ways. The best way to improve how we engage our communities is to learn from each other, which is why in 2020 we will continue to partner with IAP2 to host and facilitate networking events around the world to provide a casual environment where engagement practitioners can share stories and best practice from their communities.
